Southern California-based artist Kara Crisp developed a passion for the visual arts at a very young age. She started staving off persistent boredom using a pen her dad habitually carried in his back pocket, a restaurant placemat often serving as her canvas. Today, she works in various media and styles. She paints landscapes and abstracts, employing oil and watercolor and gouache, on canvas and custom boards and frames. But in any style, her love of natural beauty, especially of the California mountains and oceans of her Santa Barbara hometown roots, tends to shine through in all her productions. She creates custom, commissioned pieces fashioning the perfect work of art for each client and their space.
